Today Matt is currently in exploration mode (according to his Twitter bio) and has invested in 22+ companies following the CNN Acquisition and is an active advisor too many startups in his portfolio. It was at Beme that Matt experienced once again the high highs and low lows that make up one's entrepreneurial journey. However, a significant turning point in Matt's Career was his involvement as the Co-Founder and CTO of Beme, a short-form video sharing app founded alongside well-known youtube vlogger Casey Neistat. Matt, a self-taught programmer, who joined Tumblr in 2010 as their VP of Engineering and oversaw the tech team as the product scaled to a platform amassing just south of 500 million users worldwide. I sat down with Luke to discuss his origin story, his perspective on technology and innovation and, of course, his professional ambitions for the years to come. Luke, originally from Toronto, is currently based in San Francisco, attending Minerva University. His website is full of previous projects he's worked on, including many applications and brain-computer interface projects, my personal favourite being a brain-controlled drone he built this summer. Luke is a graduate of The Knowledge Society, a 10-month human accelerator program for curious and ambitious teens. On today's episode, I am joined by 17-year-old Brain-Computer Interface Dev, among many other things, Luke Piette. This week is the first installment of The Ones Who Succeed NEXT GEN, a mini-series featuring one-off conversations I have with up and coming entrepreneurs, leaders, builders and innovators, someone who is just at the beginning of their career, who I believe will go on to influence and shape our next generation.
